Acoustic Foam for Youtubers and Streamers – keep your audience enthralled.

Content creators seem to be ever expanding in the world of Gaming, Youtubers and Streamers. The technology available is to create videos and content is becoming more and more accessible, a lot more people are trying their hand at content creation. Some are doing it just as a hobby, but some have evolved it into a full time job!!

You naturally will want to keep your audience interested and to create the best content that you can. Content that is engaging is fundamental to succeeding on You Tube, Twitch, Facebook Gaming to name just a few. But how else can you fine tune your videos?

For starters, you definitely need a really good camera. One that captures footage with a very clear definition (the more pixels a camera has the better the definition of the picture taken)!. Next recording equipment is key. Your audience needs to be able to hear you clearly such as a good microphone and headset, Razer is a good brand for this. https://www.razer.com/

But what about your room acoustics? This is a key element that is easily forgotten!

Acoustic Foam for Content Creators.

So, you have all your equipment, set up your station and you have started to create content and everything is going great! Well Done!

Until you start to edit your content. Now you start to notice issues with the sound, interference and not exactly as clear as you thought it would be – agrhh.

Yes sure it could be your recording equipment, but more than likely it’s the room acoustics that is to blame for the interferences.

The way sound interacts with your environment can really impact your recordings and cause issues. Unless of course you have proper acoustic treatment installed.

A little acoustic foam can go a long way to helping you with your recordings. And at Foam2Home we have exactly what you need!

Acoustic Foam for Youtubers.

Have you ever noticed acoustic panels mounted to the walls on some of your favourite Youtubers?

No, they aren’t just some cool decoration!!!They are used to improve the room acoustics by making the audio clearer and to stop noise travelling.

Here, at Foam2Home we have you covered. We stock a range of acoustic foam styles from acoustic tiles, pyramids, wedged and profiled!  We even stock premade bundles so you get everything you need in one pack!!

Why is Acoustic Foam so important for Youtubers and Streamers?

There are so many different ways that sound can interfere with your recordings. You would think that sound waves travel directly from the source to the recording, but this is not always the case. Some actually bounce off solid surfaces such as walls before reaching your recording equipment.

These are what are called Sound Wave Reflections and are what causes issues with your recordings!!

These annoying sound waves can be prevented by softening vulnerable areas with specialist acoustic foam.

Our Acoustic Foam is designed to reflect the sound wave energy. By absorbing large portions of energy that is contained within reflected sound waves, it can not travel very far then. Hence stops them reaching your recordings and causing issues.

At Foam2Home, we service many different types of industries with our foam types. One of these is the pharma/medical industry.

Polyurethane is the foam of choice for the medical industry as it offers a high level of durability, flexibility and is biocompatible.

What are the uses of Medical foam?

The number of ways that medical foam can be used in the industry is limitless. However, depending on specific application requirements, it’s completely possible to ensure that the foam is manufactured to meet the exact needs of the company. For the following example, we are going to use polyurethane foam because it is easily manufactured as an open or closed cell product, that makes it perfectly viable to use for the following:

  • Cushioning for medical chairs.
  • Hygiene products for patients within a medical setting.
  • Packaging for medical devices.
  • Transportation of liquids / vials.

If an organisation has a specific use in mind for foam, it is possible to reach out to a foam supplier such as Foam2Home, to have a bespoke option created. This ensures that not only are you using the correct foam for your purpose but that fits perfectly for your product or business.

What are the advantages of using foam within the medical industry?

Foam such as polyurethane has many advantages when using within a pharma or medical sector, in particular for packaging devices, protecting vials while in transport as well as cushioning furniture and equipment that requires a patient to be comfortable for a certain period of time.

How much does it cost?

Everything from the density of the foam used as well as the type of foam, shape and measurements will generally have a direct impact on the price. Some foam varieties are higher quality than others so this often results in a variable price.

There are generally two options when selecting foam for use within the medical or pharma industries. Organisations may opt to purchase completely bespoke options that are manufactured for very specific needs and causes. On the other hand, for a product such our Infused Body Sponge, there are a large number of buyers that prefer to order supplies in bulk.

At Foam2Home, we also stock a fantastic Infused Body Sponge, which is predominately used by patients or carers in different medical settings for regular hygiene practices. It is a great product as it is infused with Aloe Vera so it is very gentle even on the most sensitive of skin and is ideal for bed baths as all you need is water!.

Is it worth investing in?

Thanks to its versatility and flexibility in a wide range of applications, foam is indeed a worthy investment. It can help cushion equipment while protecting medical products or offering a flexible surface for transporting goods. Foam is not just highly dynamic, it has properties to remain a sustainable option in the industry while also having low off gassing properties.

SENSORY FOAM

What is it and how is it used?

What does sensory mean?

In short sensory means ” connecting to the physical senses”.

How can sensory foam be used?

Foam is used in many different settings for children from playpens to sensory rooms, the majority of children have had some sort of experience with foam for soft play. When looking to entertain children and to stimulate the senses, parents often take children to soft foam play centres, and many often assume that foam is not easily accessible and is expensive. However, here at Foam2Home, we make foam available available for parents and carers for home use as well as usage in commercial settings.

One of our most popular foam is foam for sensory rooms. Though these have mostly been associated with paediatric therapy rooms, sensory rooms and foam pieces are now becoming more popular in the home, the foam can be specially designed help, develop and engage the senses. It can also be used for crash mats, foam pits, tunnels, seating, ramps to name just a few.

Parents would tend to order various different shapes and sizes to help stimulate their children and when full of the right items, sensory rooms can provide a unique and tactile experience that is both safe and enjoyable for the children.

Soft foam toys are also growing in popularity which we can cut-to-size in many different shapes which children can build with, make tunnels or hideaways with.

We can also supply large quantities of foam for sensory purposes in a commercial setting.

If you would like more information on this, please contact us on hello@2home.ie and a member of our team will be happy to assist you.

Campervan Mattress & Seating.

We love campervans here at Foam2Home, there is just something so magical about packing up and setting off on the open road to explore so many different and beautiful places not only in Ireland and the UK but in Europe as well.

Choosing the right foam type

You will want your van to be as comfortable as possible while you are travelling even if its only for a day or 2. So choosing the right foam type for your mattress and seating area is key. It’s amazing the modifications people are able to make on their campervans, making it a real home away from home and so cosy when travelling.

Here at Foam2Home we can help with that by choosing our foam cut to size service.

Our Production Team are extremely skilled and very experienced at their job and can cut many different shapes and sizes that fit into those uniquely shaped areas of so many campervans. So, don’t worry your in good hands!.

For campervan mattresses we recommend using a high density foam such as Firm foam to provide a sturdy base, topped with a thinner layer of Memory foam which will provide a really comfortable top to seat or sleep on. The Firm foam should be approximately 2.5-3inches thickness with the memory foam layer around 1.5-2inches thickness. Now this is only a guideline, so this can vary from person to person and van type as well as personal preference. We can cut your foam to whatever thickness you require.

The perfect garden fleece!!

The perfect fleece for your garden in any season!!

Our polyester rolls are the perfect garden fleece to protect your plants in any season.

Garden or horticultural fleece is a lightweight polyester material with a soft texture, hence its name ‘fleece’. It’s one of many different materials that are collectively referred to as crop covers. Fleece is a versatile material as it can protect plants from frost, wind, hail and pests. You can also use it to insulate plants to encourage earlier harvests, and line greenhouses with fleece to offer wider winter protection.

Because fleece is porous, allowing air and water through, it creates a healthier environment for plant growth than non-porous materials such as polythene.

Fleece is available in a range of sizes and varies in quality as well as weight – better quality fleece should last for several years if used carefully. It should be durable, being ultra-violet (UV) stabilised to withstand sunlight, tear-proof, washable and rot-proof. The downside of fleece is that it can’t be recycled, so buying good quality material that will give the longest life is most sustainable compared to cheap fleece that may only last a season.

When to use garden fleece

Winter

  • Use fleece outdoors to protect plants from frost, cold winds, or hail damage
  • In unheated greenhouses or polytunnels, use fleece to wrap or cover plants to provide additional protection against frost
  • Use heavy duty fleece as greenhouse insulation instead of bubble polythene

Spring

  • Cover soil with fleece for a week or two to warm it before sowing
  • Grow crops under fleece to raise the temperature and give an earlier harvest compared to un-covered crops
  • Put over newly planted frost-tender plants to protect from late frosts, wind, or hail
  • Protect early potatoes from frost

Summer

  • Use fleece to protect plants from attack by pests such as flea beetle or cabbage white butterfly
  • Cover delicate plants with fleece in bouts of unseasonal weather such as hail

Autumn

  • Cover tender crops and flowering annuals/tender perennials to keep them growing for longer as temperatures fall
  • Protect overwintered hardy crops from severe frosts
  • Enable harvesting of winter-hardy root crops by covering with fleece so the soil is less likely to become frozen

Wrap or cover vulnerable plants with fleece as temporary frost protection when severe weather is forecast. Use sheets of fleece to cover individual plants or groups of plants and secure with pegs or string. If the fleece is in direct contact with plants, remove as soon as weather conditions improve, as it reduces the amount of scarce winter light getting to plants and can also provide a haven for pests.

You can make a framework to cover plants, known as a cloche or tunnel, to support sheets of fleece. As long as there’s a gap of at least a few centimetres between plants and fleece, the cover can be left in place for weeks or months.

Use heavy duty fleece as greenhouse insulation, fixed to the inside of the structure using clips or double-sided sticky pads.

How to store garden fleece for reuse

With care, good-quality fleece can last for several years as it’s rot-proof and washable. If dirty, machine wash on the gentlest cycle or wash by hand, then allow to dry completely before storing in a dry place out of sunlight.

Pollinating insects are kept away from crops that need pollination, such as strawberries. For these crops, delay putting fleece over the crop until flowering has finished and the fruit is set.

Weed growth is boosted by a fleece cover as well as plant growth. Remove every so often in order to weed.

Pests such as slugs and snails can thrive under the protection of fleece. Inspect plants regularly for signs of damage and take action as appropriate.

Available in 20m, 30m and 50m rolls and delivered straight to your door!

Covered Acoustic Tiles

Why choose fabric covered acoustic tiles?

Acoustic Foam for at home entertainment studios, home office etc

Thinking of getting a home cinema? Or maybe an outdoor music room so the kids dont give you a headache when they play in their band!!! Want something just a little different for your media room or home office?

Well, Foam2Home new fabric covered acoustic tiles are the thing for you!

Designed exactly the same as all our acoustic foam and with all the same fantastic quality, with just 1 little exception, and that is the tiles are covered in a beautiful fabric so it is more aesthically pleasing to the eye

Acoustic Foam for Home Enteriantment

Having a home cinema can be a great bonding experience for a family and provide endless hours of entertainment. And with our fabric covered tiles, even more pleasing to the eye!!

Obviously, there is a lot of things that need to be put into a home cinema to make it right, such as the TV or projector system, speaker systems, lighting and of course the seating.

But there is also another aspect that takes careful fine tuned and probably one aspect that most people don’t even think about, and that is the acoustics of the room. The sound quality of the room is actually more important than you would think, there is no point in bringing the horse to water if there is no water for it to drink!!

Most people consider a great sound system is the key to a good cinema room, you can actually have TOO MUCH sound!!

Most cinema rooms are much smaller than the traditional movie theatre, sound waves bounce around the room and that in turn can cause an echo or vibration which comes out as a muddy, unclear sound.

And this is where our acoustic panels come into play!!!

So, what are acoustic tiles?

Acoustic panels are sound absorption tiles that are mostly made of foam.

Sound waves bounce mostly off hard surfaces so the softer foam material helps to dampen an extra echos and stop so many sound waves rebounding throughout the room.

Now we know what Acoustic tiles are, how do they actually work?

Acoustic tiles are designed to absorb some sound waves and dampen echoing or reverberations. They are strategically placed in certain spots in a room to help control the way sound waves bounce.

The ultimate purpose of the tiles is to control RT time, Reverberation Time. This time will depend on the size of the room, for example as library would need more panels as it is a quiet and larger space whereas a home cinema or studio will be smaller so will need fewer tiles to help control the sound rather then get a muffled sound.

However, acoustic tiles don’t just absorb sound and muffle vibrations, they also diffuse the sound so it becomes a more pleasant listening experience.

Diffusion helps reflect some of the sound back into the room so that it sounds natural without interfering and creating a muffled noise. This helps create a more “surround sound” especially in home theatres.

So, how many acoustic tiles do I actually need?

There is no general rule as to how many tiles you will need as it is no based on the square footage of the room. Two rooms could be exactly the sound but will need a different number of panels due to the placement of the sound eqiupment.

We can advise you though to take some of the following into consideration when deciding on how many tiles you will need for your space.

  1. Rooms that are rectangle or square in shape need more tiles as they create additional reflection points.
  2. If the walls are made of concrete or have additional hard surfaces such a wooden stairs, you will need more tiles.
  3. You will need to pin point all the reflection areas in the room, you will then know where you need to place your acoustic tiles and then you can calculate what you need.

DIY Pallet Furniture

If you enjoy making things from scratch and are actually good at it, this is right up your street. Cheap, affordable pallet furniture, all you need is wooden pallets, nails, power drill, screwdriver ,measuring tape and of course protective equipment!

Why not try get some free wooden pallets from companies that aren’t using them, there are plenty of places that are more than happy to give away some pallets so ask around before you go buying some.

The number of wooden pallets that you need depends on how large you want your furniture, but let’s start with 10 wooden pallets.

To begin, take 3 pallets and place them in an L shape on the ground as this will be the base of your seats. Then, take another 3 and put them evenly on top of the other previous 3, this gives you the height you need for seating. Then you need to secure the top and bottom pallets together using screws, nails or glue. At this point you need to decide if you want individual seats or you can join them all together whatever you prefer.

Next, take 3 more pallets and remove the top half. This is the backs of the seating. Secure the backs to the seating again using screws, nails or glue.

And just like that you have upcycled furniture – all you need are comfy cushions to sit on so pop over to our website where we can take care of that for you!

As for the remaining wooden pallets you can make a side table or just dispose of it if you have enough DIY for now!!!!

So, How do I revive a favourite toy?

So I hear to ask, how exactly do I revive a favourite toy?

Well first thing you need to do is order Foam Crumb from the link below.

Next, you need a few items to help you. You are going to need a pair of scissors, some thread, a needle and of course the foam crumb.

Make an incision in the back of the teddy bear with your scissors (don’t worry its doesn’t hurt)! The incision should be approximately 3 inches in length along the main seam of your teddy bear.

The size of the incision will alter depending on the size of the bear!!

So, once the incision is made, remove the current toy stuffing. If you want to wash the bear this is the perfect time to do that. But don t forget to hang the bear to dry fully before continuing your project.

When the bear is fully dry, you can then take your toy stuffing and fill the bear as evenly as you can.

Then stitch the back of the bear back up with your needle and thread as evenly and neatly as you can, and Voila you have a brand new bear!!

All thanks to a little time and effort and some high quality crumb from Foam2Home!

Five ways a memory foam mattress topper can help you get a perfect night’s sleep.

A perfect night’s sleep!!

According to the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention, 35% of adults don’t get enough sleep (7 hours per day), and this could be partly attributed to poor sleeping conditions.

Our memory foam toppers add an extra layer of comfort and support to your existing mattress, allowing you to enjoy all the benefits of a premium priced mattress, for a fraction of the price. Our memory foam products support your body, resulting in a more restful night’s sleep and a reduction in tossing and turning.

The science behind memory foam is simple. Memory foam uses your body heat to adjust and mould to your shape. This provides additional support and increased comfort, with users reporting an improved sleep. Once pressure is removed, the foam slowly bounces back, but will remember your body shape – hence the name!

Here are some of the key benefits of our memory foam toppers:

There are increased health benefits associated with memory foam:

– For those who prefer to sleep on their front, memory foam mattress toppers are reported to support the natural curve in your spin, reducing pressure on lower back. Additionally for back sleepers, memory foam offers fantastic lumbar support by adjusting to your spine. Another major benefit of memory foam is that the cushion reduces pressure on body parts which are not being lay on. As the memory foam adjusts to and contours the body, it relieves pressure above the shoulders, and because memory foam adjusts to your shape, it helps reduce pain when you wake up.

A memory foam topper can make a temporary bed feel like home:

– Whether you’re at university or renting, it’s sometimes hard to shake off the feeling that a bed has been lived in. Memory foam toppers are portable and can be added to any bed to ‘make it yours’ and soften a hardened old mattress – instantly making you feel at home.

Memory Foam extends mattress life:

– When it comes to support and durability, memory foam can outlast the seven-year lifespan suggested by The Sleep Council. Thanks to the durability and support of memory foam, mattress can outlast this. Memory foam mattress toppers significantly increase the comfort level of mattresses which results in a better sleep experience for many and extends the life of your current mattress that little bit longer.

Memory foam can reduce interruptions for light sleepers:

–Memory foam minimises motion transfer, meaning if you’re used to sharing a bed with a partner and find yourself regularly disrupted by their movement, that will quickly decrease. Memory foam – saving money, and marriages!

Our toppers are an affordable alternative to a memory foam mattress:

Memory foam mattresses are great, but they come at a cost. A mattress topper is a perfect alternative to purchasing a complete memory foam mattress for your bed – but with all the benefits. Your night’s sleep will be even sounder knowing that you have saved hundreds of pounds!

Available in a range of sizes from ‘single bed’ right through to ‘super king sized,’ our memory foam mattress toppers are the perfect luxury to help get that perfect night’s sleep you’ve been craving.

To order your memory foam topper today, visit our website, order and we’ll have yours delivered straight to your door.
